Monday
It was refreshing to have a morning to sleep in and relax after an intense day on Sunday. We were treated to a wonderful breakfast by our hosts, and then had the morning to kick back and do whatsoever we felt led to do. Some read, some played games, and yet others focused on their music. At 12:30, we all boarded the bus and headed towards Elbląg. We stopped and had lunch at the home of historian who was very informed on the history of Mennonites in northern Poland. She gave us a short lecture on the topic, then showed us an old Mennonite cemetery; and we topped off the afternoon with a tour of old town Elbląg. Old town was very fascinating as it is nearing its 800th anniversary; however many buildings were destroyed in World War Two, although some buildings, including their beautiful Roman cathedral, are still standing.
In the evening we gave a concert in a nearby Roman Catholic Church. The house was packed, and the acoustics of the building were excellent. It was a blessing to be able to share our songs in this manner, despite it being a very different feel from all the evangelical churches we had visited thus far. After the concert, we were dropped off at a shopping mall and could then eat supper at a restaurant of our choice. After supper, we all boarded the bus and proceeded back to our hosts for the night.
