Friday
After a refreshing off day yesterday, Today was a gentle way of bringing us back into the tour regiment. Our schedule consisted of visiting the local town (Minsk Mazowiecki), grabbing lunch there, a concert in the evening, and pizza for a wonderful afterparty.
Our group, after rehearsing a bit in the morning, headed off to the market to grab souvenirs and fresh fruits to satisfy our palates. Hunger pains were still not entirely satisfied though. So, as one does, we headed off in multiple directions to grab a sufficient lunch. Some of us went with the popular kebabs, while others stuck to the trustworthy burgers they’ve gotten to love in America. Regardless of the choices we made, the general consensus was a rather ‘full-filled’ one.
The day continued into the afternoon as we visited a local church and the old square of Minsk. From there, a necessary coffee stop was made, and then we headed on to visit the english school, GTE. With little time to spare, we left GTE after the short tour, and topped off our stomachs with lody on the way to our concert location.
Since our concert was given in Minsk, there were a few acquaintances among the choir members and the audience. It was a wonderful time connecting with their community.
Our day ended with a fantastic meal of pizza in Minsk and a short ride on the bus back to Gustav’s.
Today I’m grateful for…
restoration of vocal health.
wonderful Polish food.
a wonderful, receptive community to sing for.
the people we get to spend these three weeks with.
the example Jesus gave us to look beyond ourselves but rather for the interests of others.
