August Update

Here’s what happened in August 2015:

  • Marlin enjoyed having two friends from home visit for a week. He also enjoyed having his family visit for 10 days. They enjoyed seeing around Minsk Mazowiecki as well as traveling some across Poland.
  • On Friday Sharon completed an intensive Polish course in Warsaw. She has now had her first major introduction to the complexities of the Polish language. She really enjoyed the experience.
We enjoyed our time with the Syrian refugees but our interaction was short lived. Around three weeks after they arrived they ran away with no trace of where they went. They had become more and more discontent with life here in Poland.
  • Church services have been smaller as many Poles enjoy a long summer vacation visiting family, friends, or relaxing in a quiet spot in the lake region.
We are very busy at Gateway To English preparing for the upcoming school year. Cleaning, painting, rearranging, and attending to small details all prepare the school to be an inviting place for our students.

Financial and Material Needs

For the next year we anticipate average monthly expenses of $12,750 to support the team in Poland, operate the English school, and translate and distribute the Seed of Truth. Donors may indicate preferences for where their gifts are used (such as staff support, Gateway to English, or Seed of Truth) and AIM will honor preferences where possible. AIM reserves the right to assign all contributions where needed.
